about

English:

Lagoon is the electronic music duo formed by two artists from Spain: David Crespo and Tomás Milia. Their new EP, 444, is a clear reflection of more than 20 years working on the electronic music field and it shows how easy can be to let yourself feel the music and fall into the many hands that conform 444:

The EP opens with Dtregant. This aperture could be described as a majestic visualization of the Milky Way. As the long sounds of the synths flow in high and low peaks, we can appreciate the repetition of a single note from what seems like a xylophone drowned out by echoes. As Dtregant progresses, the melody takes on darker overtones. An eerily deep voice draws our attention for a few seconds, and - after a calming pause-, the melody rebuilds itself with more nuances and speed. From time to time the dark voice comes back, making sure that we donˈt get rid of the feeling of danger and mystery.
Dtregant ends smoothly by removing sound layers ; a perfect ending for an organic transition to the second track of this EP: Deflected.

Deflected is over nine minutes of melodic techno that slowly induces audiences into a lively, sharp and expressive linear melody as it progresses. It takes you to better moments, even if you have never experienced them: a view of a sky with three colors at sunset; a relaxed moment on a terrace in Ibiza; the promise of a warm night.

In the same way that night comes after sunset, from Deflected we went to DubZero.
The percussion in DubZero begins like if it was the heartbeat of a huge, half-sleeping monster. As our own heart beat races with the rhythm, there is a sudden pause. During it, a shy but sophisticated melody slowly arises. As it becomes more elaborated, the expected moment of catharsis arrives and the drop floods the song with new sounds like fireworks flood the sky at night.

Roi, the electronic music producer, has his own version of Deflected, which begins with a minimalist percussion that take us to a digital and surreal world: an 8-bit video game in which the pertinent missions require all your attention and all your logic; where strange characters play jazz with only percussion instruments.

Shurko Love creates a new version of Dtregant, in which - respecting the original atmospheric sounds - he decides to introduce a distant uk garage base. This breakbeat sound is heard as if it was miles away and the echo was brought to us by the wind. The sound modulates, approaches and moves away, turns our heads around and, after being filtered until almost disappearing, breaks into a firm and classic base where the deep, whispering, gloomy (but strangely sexy) voice is back.

444 is characterized by a sophisticated care for well-constructed sounds and subtle variations that manipulate our feelings and visions freely. A beautiful obsidian gem.

Spanish:

Te traslada a mejores momentos, incluso momentos que no has vivido.
